A Must Have

| I have used cytogainer as a weight gainer since i started college. ive gone through probably four or five tubs in the last four years off and on, and have gone from 165 to 195. seems like every time i go through the five pound tub i gain around 7-10 pounds. the catch is you gotta work out with it or you're gonna get fat. there's a butt load of calories in the product, which is great when youre using it as a meal-replacement or post workout shake, but if youre not doing cardio your just gonna put on bad weight. also, its a little hard on my digestive system, (I get gassy and bloated for about an hour after i take a shake), but thats probably just me. the serving size is supposed to be four scoops, which is way to much i think. one serving is 50% of your d.v. cholesterol. i just split it up into two scoops twice a day and it works great. i'm a dedicated customer. |

| Works great as a pre boost or post recovery supplement. Has a little chalky aftertaste, but over all pretty good. Very good value. |
Not for the losing weight type.

| I bought and started to use this product when I was still in the "need to lose weight" phase. I stopped using it when I noticed my weight was declining. Now that I am in the "need to tone" phase I started using it again but only one-fourth or even one-fifth of the recommended dosage. For a 5'8" guy, I don't need that much nutrients and fat. Overall, I do think it works as I am able to work out more the next day. |
better than Muscle Milk, but too many carbs

First of all, the packaging is kind of misleading. It says Build Lean Muscle Mass, but it really means "Bulk up". Nothing lean about it. Since I am trying to cut down, taking this is counter productive. Each serving is over 500 calories!! I use about 4 tea spooons a day to mix with my creatine, since Cyto Gainer has some pro-insulin and carbs to raise my insulin levels and help me absorb said creatine. I chose it over muscle milk because you seem to get more product for less price, however, muscle milk's serving is only 2 scoops. This thing requires four, therefore you consume it twice as fast. The creatine content of Cyto Gainer is so minuscule, that in order for you to get a standard dose (about 4-5g), you will ingest some 600 calories. Not worth it.
In all honesty, this is the last tub of protein shake I will ever buy, and stick to eggs, oatmeal and chicken. Cheaper and definitely better for you |
