Product Description

Vanilla flavored Dymatize Nutrition Pro Line Elite Whey Protein is a dietary supplement perfect for carb watchers. Instant mixability, aspartame free, 100-percent Instantized, and contains Aminogen. Naturally and artificially flavored and comes with 87 servings.

Elite is the perfect blend of Whey Protein Concentrates, Ion-Exchange Whey Protein Isolates, and Whey Peptides. Dymatize's exclusive Elite formula provides the perfect ration of essential and non-essential amino acids in their most easily assimilated form. Each serving of Elite Whey Protein is enzymatically predigested in the lab for improved absorption and bioavailability. In addition, our Whey Protein is processed to prevent protein cross linking. Each serving of Elite Whey Protein provides over 3. 5 grams of glutamine and glutamine precursors, and 5 grams of BCAA's. Dymatize's Elite Whey Protein contains very high levels of Anti-Catabolic Branched Chain Amino Acids. These Branched Chain Amino Acids are an excellent source of extra muscle fuel which may be depleted during intense training. These same Branch Chain Amino Acids are used to repair and help with the growth of cells. Branch Chain Amino Acids are utilized by muscle cells quickly after an intense work out and are an important part of an effective diet. Elite contains a proprietary digestive enzyme blend including Aminogen to help amplify absorption, and to make Elite even more agreeable to lactose intolerant individuals. No added sucrose, fat, fillers, maltodextrin, or aspartame. (These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Ordered the best received garbage

Review Date: September 2, 2010
Reviewer: Trashman,
I ordered the gourmet vanilla whey protein isolate and receive a whey protein concentrate, isolate and casein blend. Casein is garbage I wouldn't touch it with a 69 foot Olympic barbell and returned the product within minutes of receiving it. With whey concentrate it adds cholesterol to the mix, which in my case I drink protein shakes 2-3 times a day, along with an adequate meat intake I don't need any added cholesterol to my diet. My recommendation is to not order this product unless you are absolutely sure that it is whey protein isolate because then there would be no problem. Reading many of the reviews I see several people have encountered the same dilemma.

Reviewer: James Vogel,
This protein works for me because it matches and exceeds the specs of the stuff that I was getting from the gym. It is a better price per volume. It has BCAAs, low sodium, low fat, low cholesterol, and no aspartame or concentrated sugars. GF says that there is a bit of an after taste so we tried Optimum Nutrition Gold which she says tastes better. I went back to using the Dymatize Elite (gourmet vanilla) because the initial taste, and overall taste in my opinion is way better. It is hard for me to detect the flavor in the Optimum Nutrition Gold product (vanilla ice cream). I will concede that there is a subtle and slight after taste to the Dymatize product but after a little use I can no longer detect it. The overall specs on the Dymatize product are better than the Optimum Nutrition product as well, given my parameters above. I am looking for a low carbohydrate product to act as a morning meal replacement. Starting the day with a low carbohydrate and high protein meal helps me avoid a blood sugar crash before lunch. My main goal is minimize weight and poor food choices brought on by low blood sugar. Another thing I like about this product is the small serving size. A smaller scoop means more servings per container and less filler. Some proteins require a larger scoop, such as Syntha-6 (more fillers, higher in sodium), to deliver the same level of protein. The best thing that you can do, is to try some of the different products paying attention to serving/scoop size and compare the container labels side by side. It is hard to find the exact specs on the web. You want something that tastes good, is soluble in water, and does not give you gas. I am very pleased with this product. The ON product has a few more servings per container, possibly due to a difference in how full they consider one scoop to be, but not a significant difference in my mind. Both are good products. I blend mine with water, fish oil, and some frozen strawberries. (BTW: My disclaimer. I am just an average Joe, so don't look to me for official nutritional advice.)
Received WRONG item

Reviewer: Normal Norman,
This is not a review of the product because I have just received it. I rate it 4 stars in order to submit this review.
First, kudos to Amazon for their super fast 2-day shipping. However, that is not an excuse for sending the wrong item. Please read other reviews here, you will see that at least two other people other than me complained about being shipped the wrong Protein. I ordered "Whey Protein ISOLATE", how come I received "Whey & Casein Blend". I checked the label. It is different from the product picture above. What's wrong?
Dymatize Elite GOURMET whey Protein

I ordered the five pound tub of Strawberries & Cream flavor, from the page "Dymatize Nutrition Elite Whey Protein Isolate Powder, Tub by Dymatize Nutrition Elite", sold by Direct Supercenter/DAB nutrition via Amazon Prime.

But... it isn't actually Elite Whey Protein Isolate; the product I got is "Dymatize Elite GOURMET Whey and Casein Blend", which, in my infinite wisdom, I failed to notice (look carefully at the picture on the order page - it's tiny, but it's different from the rest). In short, the Strawberries and Cream "flavor" is actually a different product from the rest of the flavors, and it isn't whey protein isolate. So, kind shopper, be more observant than I was.

So, useful stuff:
The product I received has 21 g protein/serving, and is flavored with Sucralose (often sold under the brand name Splenda). It has a noticeable aftertaste to me, though not everyone tastes it. Despite this, the product tastes good, even mixed (at high concentrations) in water, and is actually enjoyable in milk - enough so that I'll try Dymatize Elite again to get the actual whey protein isolate product. The Gourmet Strawberries and Cream dissolves very well in water or milk using a fork to stir for ~20-30 seconds, which is better than some other powders I've used. It's relatively clump-free, and feels like it's doing its job. I'm not disappointed, but I feel like I could have done better for thirty-four bucks--namely, whey isolate instead of whey concentrate etc.

For people not getting Strawberries & Cream:
The rest of the products on this page (to the best of my knowledge) are actually what the heading says: Dymatize Nutrition Elite Whey Protein Isolate Powder. That stuff is mostly whey protein isolate, and is sweetened with stevia. Look it up on wikipedia if you're curious. It's a natural sweetener that (so far) seems ok. It's what I wanted to buy.

I hope this helps, especially if you're looking at the strawberries & cream. I'm sorry that this is largely unhelpful to those buying anything besides that "flavor". Still, there are tons of decent reviews on dymatize elite whey; it seems to be pretty popular, and a solid competitor to ON 100% whey at a lower price point.

Good luck.
Great Isolate protein. Great price!

I just placed my second order for the butter cream toffee. It has a smooth taste and mixes well with water, soy milk, skim milk and 1% milk. No bloating or gas so far. Will continue to use this product.
